Welcome to SANDYLAND

SANDYLAND started as a way to make sense of things during a season of life that felt hard, messy, and confusing.

I had a friend who texted me almost every day asking, "What's going on in SANDYLAND today?" Somewhere along the way, I realized SANDYLAND could be whatever I wanted it to be—a place for ideas, creativity, optimism, and starting over.

As a middle-aged, newly divorced woman (okay, technically the divorce is taking forever and is still going on...), I found myself standing at the beginning again, searching for who I was, what mattered, and how to be present in a life that suddenly looked very different from the one I had planned.

Most days, that beginning looked a lot like me standing in my back alley in Venice with a can of spray paint, a head full of worries, and absolutely no idea what I was doing. Creating became my way forward.

So, hi. I'm Sandra, a Swedish artist living in Venice, Los Angeles. After years working in media, marketing, and creative direction, I found myself returning to what I'd always loved most: making things that make me happy.
